i only met Dave 4 and a half years ago when i moved in next door to him   he came round after a few with a letter that had been thru hes door by mistake it was for my wife ( girlfriend at time ) he asked me who was mellis i told him my gf  he then went thru the whole of her family he knew them all . he told me her uncle had looked after him gave him a place to stay gave him noney and food when dave was on the run . from then on we were great mates . my wife always cooked him a roast on a sunday until he was struggling to eat proper meals but i understand that as i also struggle to eat my mifes cooking lol .  ive got a little dog called ted everyday dave would bring him treats round and if i was outside the pub ted would follow dave to hes house to get a treat or 10 then at christmas there was a pile of presents just for ted that dave brought him . last year me and dave had our heads shaved in the pub and raised 400 quid for the martlets . whatever dave got up to in hes early days he was always a perfect gent    .  R.I.P MATE
